Jim Beam is a brand rich in history, with over 220 years experience in the field of bourbon mastery. Beginning in 1795, the German family 'Boehm' Americanised their name to 'Beam' after moving to Kentucky, lead by government incentives to grow corn. After watching Scottish and Irish settlers nearby sharing their family whiskey recipes with the Americans, Jacob Beam decided to try his hat at it. Armed with his father's whiskey recipe, he had the ingenious idea to utilise the excess corn his fields had produced and distil it into a sugary take on his fathers. Just like that, a sweeter version of whiskey-bourbon was born and the small town went mad for it.
