Established in 1985, Cloudy Bay was one of the first five wine makers to venture into Marlborough. Pelorus embodiesthe crispy sophistication of a sparkling wine: subtly combining fresh and fruity chardonnay notes with rich and savoury hints of pinot noir. Cloudy Bay's Natural Luxury is a luxury of space and time, of intimate moments and nature’s rarest qualities. The pale straw colour and aromas of ripe citrus fruits indicate its chardonnay origins. A layered bouquet of apple and lemon citrus complements fresh bready notes derived from two years bottle ageing on lees. The deliciously crisp palate displays toasty, creamy complexity,enhanced by a lingering nutty finish. Pelorus was designed as an aperitif but the palate offers significant depth making it a delightful partner to many dishes. The favourite pairing is with freshly shucked oysters & a squeeze of lemon.
