The Uprising, a new wine aged for 30 days in Rum Barrels, pays homage to Australia’s Rum Rebellion of 1808. With a portion of this wine aged in Rum barrels, it leaves a warm brown sugar finish to this dark jammy wine. 19 Crimes turned convicts into colonists. In the 18th and 19th centuries, British rogues found guilty of at least one of 19 Crimes were sentenced to live in Australia as punishment. As pioneers in a frontier penal colony, they forged a new country and new lives, brick by brick. Today, 19 Crimes wines celebrate the rebellious spirit of the more than 160,000 exiled men and women, the rule breakers and law defying citizens that forged a new culture and national spirit in Australia. Tasting Notes
Colour: Medium red with bright ruby red hues. Nose: Intense lifted mocha, caramel and sweet spice aromatics balanced with raspberry and blackberry fruits. Palate: Full and round on the palate with a distinct sweetness making the wine rich and mouth coating. The mocha and sweet spice aromatics carry through on the palate and compliment subtle flavours of brown sugar and cinnamon. The palate has a long rich plush finish filled with jammy blackberry and raspberry flavours.
