Product Details

Grant Burge Barossa Cameron Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is sourced from some of the finest parcels of fruit across the Barossa, the Cameron Vale Cabernet Sauvignon is a pure expression of the high quality fruit and wine of the region.

Tasting Notes

Our Vigneron Collection brings together outstanding vineyards and our unique winemaking style to showcase the best of each variety. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is named after one of the Barossa's earliest vineyards sites, a Cabernet vineyard planted by the Burge family in the early 1970s. This fine example of full bodied Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon takes elements from the Barossa Valley floor and the higher cooler Eden Valley. The vineyards were carefully selected and harvested; the fruit was destemmed and fermented in small static fermenters, retaining varietal expression. Once fermentation was completed, the wine was transferred to a combination of new and older French oak barrels for 18 months' maturation before bottling. This Cabernet represents a pure expression of the variety and the region, drinking well now and rewarding for those who patiently cellar for up to 10 years.

Meet the Winemaker: Craig Stansborough

Craig's passion for winemaking started early on in his life as he grew up in Gawler, on the edge of the Barossa Valley - an area renowned for its wine industry.

He began his career as a cellar hand with B Seppelt & Son in 1983, working at Château Tanunda and later at Seppeltsfield. After gaining valuable experience, Craig joined Grant Burge Wines in 1993 as a Cellar Manager and quickly rose through the ranks to become Assistant Winemaker in 1994, Winemaker in 1995, and Senior Winemaker in 1997.

His exceptional talents, leadership skills, inquisitive mind, and unrelenting passion for winemaking were key factors in his meteoric rise within the company. Today, Craig continues to pursue his passion for winemaking and tends a small vineyard on his property in Williamstown.

Grant Burge Wines is proud to have Craig as part of their team, and his contributions have played an integral role in shaping the brand's success.
