Houghton was founded in 1836 by a syndicate of three British Army Officers and named after the most senior of the three-Lieutenant Colonel Richmond Houghton. Throughout its history, Houghton has built an enviable reputation shaping the Western Australian winemaking landscape. Houghton Shiraz is a medium bodied wine displaying attractive ripe cherry, pepper and spice aromas. The juicy fruit flavours and fine tannins follow onto the softly textured palate.
