Jacob’s Creek is rooted in 170 years of winemaking tradition, which began when Johann Gramp planted his first vineyard on the banks of Jacob’s Creek in 1847. In doing so, Johann founded the Gramp & Sons winery and began a history of winemaking innovation that continues today.
Sustainable Winegrowing
- Jacob’s Creek winery is home to the largest onsite winery combined solar installation in Australia. A 3.1MW system generates approx. 4000MW/year, equivalent to around 20% of Jacob’s Creek annual winery electricity consumption. Or powering 1000 homes in Barossa.
- All of their vineyards in South Australia are certified to ISO14001: Environmental Management Systems. This certification commits them to continuous improvements to prevent negative environmental impacts, enhance risk management and articular to Jacob’s Creek policies and progress to monitor effectiveness.
