High in the Hills surrounding the Barossa lies Pewsey Vale, Eden Valley's pioneer vineyard. Pewsey Vale Vineyard is the hallowed home of Riesling. The vines can be traced back to the 1800's and the original James Busby collection of cuttings brought into Australia. Today Pewsey Vale Vineyard is a single vineyard dedicated to the single variety - Riesling.
Tasting Notes
All the hallmarks of the Eden Valley and The Pewsey Vale Vineyard - citrus lime with hints of dried herbs and a soft acidity. Pale straw with green hues. Intense aromas reminiscent of fine dried herbs, white flowers, lemon and lime. Shows great length and depth on the palate with grapefruit and lime flavours, fresh rosemary and ahint of tropical fruit. The wine finishes with a soft natural acidity which balances the flavour intensity and a minerality that is delicious now or will reward medium to long-term cellaring.
